WHA Rides
The brand identity, website and search presence for a Chicago executive chauffeur service, built around one action: requesting a ride.
The Story
Challenge, approach, build.
The Challenge
WHA Rides is a private chauffeur service in Chicago for executives, law firms, financial institutions and discerning travelers. Rides are made in full-size and luxury SUVs, for airport transfers, corporate accounts and bookings by the hour. The brief covered the whole presence at once: a brand identity that looks established, a website that makes asking for a ride simple, and pages that people searching for a Chicago chauffeur can find.
The Approach
The identity is a shield emblem, with an SUV in front of the Chicago skyline above a road, beside a bold serif WHA and a gold script Rides. A black-and-gold palette carries it everywhere. The website then does one job well: the homepage opens on a full-screen night-time slideshow with a headline, “A quieter way to arrive.”, and two actions, Book Your Ride and Get a Quote. A short request form, a persistent Book Now button and a tap-to-call phone number keep a booking one step away.
The Build
The site is custom-coded, with HTML, CSS and JavaScript on the front end and a small PHP endpoint that emails each booking request to the dispatch team. The request form takes pickup and drop-off addresses, date, time and contact details, checks the addresses against a Chicago-area service radius (it warns instead of blocking) and includes a hidden spam trap. Headlines are set in Playfair Display with Inter for body text. On phones, a sticky Book Your Ride bar stays at the bottom of the screen, and a WhatsApp button is available on every page. For search, each of the three services, Airport Transfers, Corporate Transportation and Hourly Chauffeur, has its own page with its own title, description and heading, and the airport page names O'Hare and Midway directly.
